The son of Arthur and Bertha Smith, Sidney of Greenfield, is listed on the CWG website. He was a Signalman (2367854) of the 3rd Command Sigs. Royal Corps of Signals. He died aged 32 on 09/08/1943 having been killed on Salisbury Plain. He was married to Annie Joyce who was later buried 31/12/1946 aged 31.

The headstone appears to have fallen over to the plot behind, in addition to the inscription there is also the burial of Annie Reid who was buried 13/03/1965.
