A Vigil Service is a dedicated worship of readings and prayers. This special service honors the men of the parish who lost their lives in the Great War 1914-1918 and remembers their families who awaited their return, highlighting the ultimate sacrifice they made. The quoted scripture emphasises love through sacrifice. Gratitude is also expressed for the researchers who helped reveal those memorialised.

During the service the names of the soldiers (provided by the researchers) to be remembered was read out.
