Only son of Captain Walter George Bagnall (Duke of Wellington’s Regt. and Edith Jane Bagnall (nee Jowett) Of Hawthorpe Hall in Uppermill and of Cintra in Llandudno.

Remembered also at the CWGC, Second Lieutenant Philip Walter Jowett Bagnall, of regiment Royal Welsh Fusiliers 6th Bn. died 10th August 1915 aged 19 years old. buried or commemorated at Helles Memorial in Turkey (including Gallipoli)

He had enlisted from school as a private in the battalion and commissioned. Wounded and captured by the Turks.
