Lambeth Palace Library

For anyone interested in history, there are a variety of documents that have been originally published online as part of the Church Plans Online project. Lambeth Palace Library is the historic library of the Archbishops of Canterbury and preserves the national archives of the Church of England.

This collection is part of the Incorporated Church Building Society (ICBS) collection. These images are dated 1830 and signed by Abram Bentley, Architect. He is buried in the lower yard, with his wife Sarah and grandson Mathew. The inscription also includes a memorial to his married daughter Esther Shepherd who died in Norwalk, Connecticut, North America.

The plans also included the introduction of Free Seating. Increasing capacity to 672 places. this was drawn up by J Shaw and Abram Bentley and was signed by the Vicar Rev Whitelock and churchwardens Thomas Bradbury and Ben Wrigley.
